Islamic scholars (Imam) for Mosque

Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Imam to provide spiritual leadership, guidance, and community support. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Islamic theology, possess excellent communication skills, and be dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive mosque environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
•Lead the five daily prayers at the Mosque.
•Give the Khutbah and lead prayer for Jummah. Deliver khutbah relevant to issues affecting Muslims with lessons learnt and how to benefit at the time and delivered in English and Urdu/Hindi
•Lead the Tarawih Prayer in Ramadan.
•Lead Eid Prayers and deliver Khutbah.
•Provide funeral services and guidance and assist the committee/volunteers with body preparation and burial as needed.
•Conduct matrimonial services in accordance with UK and Islamic law and offer pre-marital and marital counselling and conflict resolution.
•Offer Islamic family and youth counselling and guidance as needed.
•Provide Quran and Hadith studies, Seerah and Fiqh lessons, and other Islamic topics to increase knowledge and provide for spiritual growth of community members.
•Participate in the community activities that further good interfaith and public relations for Islam and Muslims.
•Play an active role in mosque open days and school, public workers, and institute visits to the centre
•Develop and implement educational program for new Muslims.
•Develop and implement educational and extracurricular programs for the youth.
•Work with management committee on fundraising programs for the community and masjid as needed.
•Provide consultation to the Committee on religious matters, community issues, and Mosque activities as requested.
•Visit community events, schools and other institutes representing Mosque on a regular basis.
Essential Required Qualifications
•Education in Islamic Studies
•Fluency in English, Urdu/Hindi
•Comprehensive knowledge of Islamic Sharia.
•Memorised the Qur’an, preferably a Hafiz of Qur’an.
•Practical experience as an Imam or Assistant Imam.
•Willingness to supervise the masque team as well as be supervised by the management committee.
•Experience in Islamic family and youth counselling or is willing to undergo training.
•Experience in pre-marital and marital counselling or is willing to undergo training.
•Experience in teaching and explaining Islam to Non-Muslims.
